We Sing...Despite It All was created to build connection through music and community. While music can be a powerful source of comfort and encouragement, it is not a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, or crisis intervention.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please know that help is available. Reaching out is a sign of strength, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone.

we sing…despite it all…
Together, we sing the songs someone else needs to hear.
Music has the power to comfort, connect, unite, and remind us that we are never alone.
welcome
Welcome to We Sing...Despite It All, a charity community sing-along benefiting Riveon Mental Health & Recovery.
On September 10, World Suicide Prevention Day, we'll come together to sing songs that have brought comfort, encouragement, connection, and hope to people during difficult times.
Before the event, you're invited to request a song that has been meaningful to you or one you simply need to hear. Please submit your request by September 3, 2026, so I have enough time to compile the lyrics, organize the playlist, and prepare every requested song for the evening. Together, those requests will create a playlist filled with songs of comfort, encouragement, connection, and hope. Guests are welcome to sing along from their seats, join me on stage, or simply enjoy an evening of music, dinner, and community.
If you would like to request a song, perform a song, dedicate a song, or share the story behind your song, please complete the Song Request Form below.
All song requests must be submitted by September 3, 2026 so I have enough time to compile the lyrics and prepare them for everyone attending the event.
At We Sing...Despite It All, we believe:
Every song tells a story.
Every story deserves to be heard.
Every voice has the power to remind someone they matter.
No one deserves to struggle alone.
Connection Saves Lives
We Sing...Despite It All is being held on World Suicide Prevention Day during National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month because connection is one of the most powerful protective factors in suicide prevention.
This year's national theme, developed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), is:
Stronger Together: Connect. Support. Prevent.
Suicide prevention isn't the responsibility of one person or one organization. It grows through the relationships we build, the support we offer, and the communities we create together. When people feel connected, valued, and supported, they are more likely to reach out for help before a crisis occurs.
That message is at the heart of We Sing...Despite It All. While music is not a replacement for professional mental health care, it has a unique ability to bring people together, start conversations, offer comfort, and remind us that we are never alone.
To further support that mission, 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit Riveon Mental Health & Recovery. Riveon provides comprehensive mental health, addiction recovery, crisis, and recovery services for individuals and families throughout Lorain County, helping people find hope, healing, and the support they need when they need it most.
Together, we can strengthen our community, encourage meaningful conversations about mental health, and help ensure that no one has to face life's challenges alone.
